My God, it has been 35 years ago (would somebody please figure out a way to slow down time) and it seems like 3 1/2 weeks ago I was with my brother in his new 1968 Olds Cutlass on Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs, Ca.

He just bought a 4-track tape of a group called Spirit and the name of the album was Family That Plays Together.

My brother just got back from Vietnam and he was my hero, I was 11.

When I heard "I got a line on you", I had to buy the album. That same day I went to Thrifty's Drug store and bought it.

That night after hearing both sides, they have been my favorite group and always will be

Spirit was special. Very Special. Virtually every rock group is swimmin in their wake. Randy California Jay Ferguson, Ed Cassidy, Mark Andes and John Locke.

But when it came to fate, they had none. PERFECT EXAMPLE was their manager decided to turn down this concert they were ask to be in and decided to have the band go to iowa and visit am stations. THE CONCERT? It was WOODSTOCK!!! WHAT A MANAGER.

In the mid 70's I was manager of the Costa Mesa Dixie HiFi stereo store (maybe you know them by their new name CIRCUIT CITY). To close the sale we would play Aren't You Glad and that was the hook. I know we sold more Spirit Albums by playing them daily.

I have seen them in concert 4 times. Twice at the Golden Bear and twice at the Santa Monica civic.

The first concert I went to was in 1975. It was at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, CA.

It was great. So was the Golden Bear Concert in 78.

I also saw them at the Santa Monica civic in 1976 the one with Neil Young. And in 78 with Iron Butterfly and Steppenwolf.

Here are some short wavs of Aren't You Glad.
